![]() Thor and Loki were longhair gray cats born sometime in June of 1987. I adopted them together from the SPCA in January of 1988, when they were about 7 months old. Normally it is very odd for two cats to stray together, but they were in a cage together and did not want to be separated. Loki was OK without Thor, but Thor was very frantic and cried terribly without Loki. I later found out it was because Thor was blind, and Loki "took care" of him that Thor was so frantic at being separated from Loki. Loki was blind in one eye as well, but he at least had some vision. I couldn't bear the thought of separating them, so I had to adopt them together. Thor also reached through the bars of the cage to pull me close to him and lick my face. *SIGH* Cat Love!
Loki looking cool under Jack's hat Loki is ... well ...lazy (think Garfield here), but he has a persistent streak to him also. Jack used to call him "N+1" because however many times you would tell him NO or try to get him not to do something, he would always try one more time. And he's so darn cute he gets away with it too!
Loki a few months before he passed on Loki died December 8, 1998. Exactly one year to the day when we moved into our new home. It was such a hard choice to make, but Dr. Levine finally came out and said that at this point no amount of money could ever make him feel better again. We could have some more time with him, but it would not be comfortable or happy for him and we were just postponing the inevitable. Dr. Otterson agreed with her. Loki died while Sarah McLachlan was singing "Angel" in the background of the vet's office, while we both held him wrapped in his favorite blue towel. He's buried with his two favorite toy mice, some of his favorite food, and a letter from each of us. We can't imagine living without him, and we mourn his loss. How blessed we were for our time with him! ![]() -- SARK His Daddy Says: Dear Loki, Sorry about my handwriting. We miss you. I missed your spring time youth but your mom gives you justice with her memories. I came into your life in the late summer. You were a noble and proud cat full of life. Your fall was short, and I am thankful for that. I'm glad you did not linger long. It's going to be a long winter without you. Dad Mommy Says: Dear Loki, For 11 years you brought light and love into my life. You are the reason I am alive and sane today, because your love seen me through the worst of times. I didn't want to see you go, kiddo, but I couldn't be selfish and keep you here in agony. Rest in peace, there is no more pain for you now. Wherever you go, you take our love with you always. Mom
